The information gap between private and public sector careers costs healthcare workers hundreds of thousands of dollars over a career. A nurse who doesn't know about PSLF, CalPERS, or CDCR's pay scale may spend 30 years in a for-profit hospital earning less total compensation than a colleague who made one informed career decision at year five.
